Hi it's Hugh! Sorry I missed to update twice..
I thought it's easier to read so I put all the English part below the Japanse blog!

NOW ENGLSIH!!
So yesterday was my friend's birthday party and we went to a karaoke bar!
Karaoke is from Japan but the karaoke here and in Japan is pre-different.
Firstable, the pronounciation is different :) We say it karaoke, but the americans pronounce like Charaoky.
I don't know why but this is kind a difficult to pronounce for me.
At one of my job, I have to go get a van for a karaoke company and when you pick up the van, you'll have to tell them your company name. I say "I'm from Karaoke" but most of the time they don't get it by once. I have to repeat couple times.. I have that job tonight so hopefully I can say it correctly..
anyway,
In Japan, when you say let's go to Karaoke, most likely you'll have a private room. Unless you go to a snack karaoke bar, most of the places don't have a public space to sing.
In the US, most likely you will sing at a counter bar with all the other people that you may don't know each other.
And if you want to sing a lot or just want to have a private space, then people will use the private karaoke room.
The town where I went to a universtiy, there wasn't any karaoke bar.. but every Thursday night,
one old man who is an awesome Karaoke lover, brought karaoke machine to a bar and let us sing that night.
When I did karaoke in Japan, it always had been at a private room and you know.. at karaoke store, so that the american way of doing karaoke, "bringing" karaoke was very interesting to me. I'm not saying we don't do that in Japan but I just think it's very rare compare to the US.
The karaoke bar we went last night was running by Japanese people so they had a few Japanese songs at there. Therefore I decided to sing one of my favorite songs to sing at a karaoke!
Do you know Sayuri Ishikawa? She is an Enka singer. Enka is a Japanese traditional music.
I really love her song call "Tsugarukaikyo fuyugeshiki"
but the one I sing always is this one
Journey beyond the Amagi gap (Amagi goe)
I sang this song at the reunion of my Junior high school when I turned to 20. Since then this is a song that I have to sing at a Karaoke if they have :)
It's a great song isn't it?
The video I put on in the Japanese part doesn't have the english subtitle but she is older. The way she sings is different and I really love it both!
NOW I WANT TO INVITE YOU TO MY GIG!!!
March 16th, from 8pm
@ Bar East (between 89th and 90th St, on 1st Ave.)
$10 at the door + 2 drinks minimum
We'll play for 45 minutes!!
Please come if you are free on that night! It's gonna be fun!!
